Tia LeeAnn Clark is the great-great-great granddaughter of Private George Garey, Company B, 15th Virginia Infantry, mustered into service in late July, 1861. Company B, was known as the Virginia Life Guard. Most of the men of were from the Richmond area. Best remembered for its bravery at Anteitam, where it lost more than 50% of its soldiers, the Fifteenth was a part of the long retreat that ended with Lee's surrender at Appomattox. Fewer than 70 officers and enlisted men were still with the Fifteenth when it surrendered at Appomattox Court House.

Tia is a 9th grade student at Montgomery High School, member of Texas Crush Volleyball and 4H shooting sports club. She has been honored as 2008 8th grade Outstanding Science Student and recipient of the 2007-2008 Presidential Academic Excellence Award. Tia is the daughter of Tommy and Sara Clark and granddaughter of Charles and Vicki Steffler, Nancy Perry and the late Tommy Clark, Sr.
