Our opening address will be given by our Texas Divsion Commander, H. G. (Greg) Manning. A retired Army Officer with more than 20 years service, Commander Manning is a veteran
of the Vietnam war and also served in Okinawa, Germany, Belgium and even had a short visit to the Soviet Union in its final days.
Commander Manning has been a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans since 1996. At the Major Robert M. White Camp 1250 in Temple, Texas,
he served as Colors Sergeant 1996-1997, Lt. Commander 1997-1998 and Commander 1998-2000.
At the Division Level, he has served as
Adjutant 2000-2001, Chief of Staff 2002, 3rd Lt. Commander 2002-2003, 2nd Lt. Commander 2003-2004,
Lt. Commander 2004-2006 and from 2006 to present has been our Texas Division Commander.
In 2001, he was Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee which was responsible for the first ever Legislative Action Day
and passage of new Texas government code protecting monuments on state-owned property and as Chief of Staff in 2002,
coordinated Texas Camps in support of H.K. Edgerton's March Across Dixie.
