“A Day In The Old South”

With more than 200 in attendance, our 2008 “Confederate Heroes Day Cotillion” held at River Plantation Country Club was a huge success in providing help for the
rebuilding of “Beauvoir” (home of Jefferson Davis), support for our camps projects and promoting the celebration of this great Texas State Holiday.

We offer our special thanks to Alan Sadler our County Judge, Les Pettigrew our Magruder’s Gulf Coast Brigade Commander,
J. Pat Baughman, who served as our Master of Ceremony, Author Tom Holder, Artist Jerry McWilliams, Cypress Creek Blue Grass Band,
Rhythm Cloggers of Houston, Dusty Kobs, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Surface, members of Waul's Texas Legion,
15th Texas Infantry Regiment Reenactors, and other area SCV camps, area UDC and Confederate Rose chapters and of course the
beautiful young ladies that represented us our “Southern Belles”.
